 Money and Transportation

YOU SHOULD KNOW...

• Economy
Mainly tourist related. Agriculture, tobacco, cattle ranching and Tequila production are also important as financial resources.

• Currency
You can exchange your money for Pesos at money exchange houses located on nearly every street corner, and at banks throughout the city. Visa, MasterCard and American Express credit cards are widely accepted.

• Airport
Located 4 miles from down town, has over 450 weekly flights, ground transportation available.

• Taxis
There are 1000s of taxis available in Puerto Vallarta. Fares are posted in most major hotels. Asking about the fare before you get in may save you a few pesos.

• Buses
Fares in town are 4 pesos, which equals about 50¢ in the US. Buses can be caught at nearly every corner and run from early morning until around midnight.
